Temperature environment: Ovens and DUT boards Temperature chambers and the DUT board technology within them are an important component of most package-level semiconductor reliability test systems. QualiTau offers two variations of a Standard capacity oven and DUT boards for up to 250C and 350C testing. The Standard capacity oven holds 10 DUT boards with a total of 60 sockets. Additionally, three variations of a Mini-Oven, holding 5 DUT boards with 30 sockets, are offered for testing at temperatures up to 250°C, 350°C and 450°C. All of QualiTau.s ovens also have an option for LN2 which the oven can use for testing at temperatures down to -50°C, typically for HC-related tests. Small convection oven advantages: QualiTau uses small convection ovens that offer several advantages over both large ovens and heating plate type ovens. Convection ovens are important for EM testing where Joule Heating is created by the DUT. A constant flow of air past the packages allows for a determination of the actual line temperature consisting of the oven temperature plus the individual Joule Heating of each DUT. In contrast to large ovens, small ovens offer superior temperature specifications in terms of ramp rates, temperature uniformity, accuracy, and stability over time. Additionally, they are easier to facilitate, requiring only 110 volts and sustaining very low thermal loss. Small ovens also enable each experiment to be carried out at its own temperature, thus allowing for a TCR phase. Please see the QualiTau Tech Note titled .Joule Heating During Electromigration Tests. for more details. Proven 350°C capability: QualiTau is unquestionably the leading manufacturer of systems with high temperature ovens and DUT boards. QualiTau has vast experience with this technology and a reliability record proven by a large number of systems in use at various customer sites throughout the world. 350°C DUT board technology: The design of QualiTau.s high temperature DUT boards have a stainless steel core, insulative coating, gold traces, and durable sockets. Since these boards are not solid ceramic, they are not brittle and will not break or crack as easily as a solid ceramic board. ZIF sockets: QualiTau offers a ZIF socket as a standard feature on our 250°C DUT boards and optionally on our 350°C DUT boards. Along with being easy to use, these sockets can accommodate both 300 mil and 600 mil packages. |
